A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance News!

And big news at that.

Hello from Castrum Lusitania, my fortress in northern Portugal. Welcome to another edition of our weekly newsletter.

This week was all invested into gray tones for Phenomena Book 2. Sick kids and other ventures associated with the holidays (traditional dinners with friends) plus a podcast live recording session meant that all work time had to go into the main gig.

However, there are some big and rather exciting news to share:

A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance Deluxe Edition is coming in 2023

That’s right folks. Since Righteous Thirst was finalized and presented as a complete story told across two trade paperbacks, we got a lot of people asking when would they get it in one complete edition.

Now you know: in 2023. And not just a complete edition, but a Deluxe Edition. Bigger size, hardcover, lots of extras, the whole shebang.

This was the plan all along. Me and Rick spoke since the beginning about doing a Deluxe edition in the end where we’d present this story in the best possible package. We worked really hard on crafting this story with all the care we could muster, investing everything we had into the storytelling and narrative. So it makes only sense that the definite edition is a deluxe product.

Speaking of everything, this is what all the originals for Righteous Thirst look like pilled up:

All 254 pages, plus all the covers, in a single, majestic pile. Maybe one day I’ll sell originals from books, but for now I have all of them, from all books, including this one. If I could choose, I’d sell an entire book to one person. I don’t like the idea of separating them, which is what’s been keeping me from putting them on sale. But I might change my mind someday.

As for the work produced during the week itself, as always I have some lovely sneak peeks for your eyes only. I’ll keep it brief as we don’t want to spoil too much from the book.

These are complete panels, but the ones who’ve picked up the first book will notice these are flat tones, unlike the dotted texture you can find on Book 1. That’s because converting the flat tones into dots is my last step, once I complete all the pages.

Which I will next week, fulfilling my goal of wrapping this batch of pages before the end of the year. Something that fills me with satisfaction, as you can imagine. I wanted to produce things at a certain pace and I was hopeful that being this the second book, I’d be able to hit the ground running. Which I did: we’ll end 2023 with 54 completed pages already, matching my best predictions.
