New Inks and (lots of) Phenomena 3 Comps
And Sacrificers comps. And Cyberpunk 2077 comps. So many comps.
Hello from Castrum Lusitania, my fortress in northern Portugal. Welcome to another edition of our weekly newsletter.
I had to skip last week’s Castrum due to workload. Stuff got slightly delayed due to other matters and I felt it would be best to bunker down and speed up throughout the weekend to get things back on track.
Back on track they are, so let’s get down to business.
Phenomena 3 comps
My copies of Phenomena 3 have arrived. We got our advance copy weeks ago and now two boxes full of this beautiful book are in a corner of my office.
Due to how many of the Phenomena trilogy HCs and Righteous Thirst HCs and TPBs I still have, I’m considering opening a store in my website in the near future. For that and some original art, perhaps. Watch this space, you’ll be the first to know.
Project Red new inks
I’ve been inking non-stop for a week and a half now, moving through a batch of 33 penciled pages. The first 11 are part of a sequence that was particularly grueling to pencil (lots of moving parts with different perspective angles doing different things) but were slightly easier to ink, thankfully. After that, I’ve now arrived at a few pages of dialogue (sigh of relief) and minor action until we hit a small set piece in the end - meaning things should be way faster from now on. See below a few details:
Sacrificers vol. 3 comps
Not long ago, I also got my comps for Sacrificers vol. 3. I did three issues for the series, with 2 appearing in vol. 2 and the last one on vol. 3 (Issue 13). It looks absolutely beautiful in print. See for yourself:
Those gears were…not easy. Worth the effort, though.
Cyberpunk 2077 comps
Finally, Dark Horse sent me the Cyberpunk 2077: Kickdown collection. I love the game quite a lot, so it was a pleasure to draw covers for this spin-off series and explore a little bit of this universe in my own style. I was quite pleased to see all of them collected in the trade paperback. The creative team did a fantastic job with the interiors, so give it a chance if you like Cyberpunk as much as I do.

The last few weeks were fairly frantic, so I’m looking forward to take my time inking and finishing pages in the next two while watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s fairly likely that there won’t be a newsletter next week due to a busy weekend, but I’ll see you soon nonetheless.

So, you don’t have an art rep, like Felix Comic Art? It would be incredible to own a page from Phenomena!
And yeah, those gears are incredible.
