Man, these pages are fantastic! The designs are great too. Do you usually find the designs in the thumbnails and flesh them out in the pencils? Or are you doing more sketching up front? I imagine it's different if you're going to be revisiting the same locations and characters, right?
Ideally, time allowing, I like to sketch things out ahead of the script itself. If we're pressed on time though, I'll figure it out straight in thumbnails. When that's the case, the thumbnails containing the designs are a bit tighter than the rest - which is the case in these pages. I combine the description of what needs to be design with the needs of the script for the scene itself, since it has already been written prior to a design existing.
